Lake Manyara is a compact powerhouse of ecosystems. The mission begins in a dense groundwater forest where baboon troops dominate the canopy, before breaking out into the acacia woodlands and the vast, soda-crusted lake shore.
The sector's tactical highlight is the observation of its unique tree-climbing lions—an evolutionary quirk found in very few places on the continent. During the wet season, the lake expands to cover two-thirds of the park, drawing in massive clouds of flamingos and pelicans.
